Damon® Ultima
Self-Ligating Braces

Damon™ Ultima self-ligating braces provide a more comfortable and efficient route to a beautiful, handmade smile. We provide Damon braces and expert orthodontics in Augusta and Grovetown!

How do Damon self-ligating braces work?

Damon Ultima braces use a passive slide mechanism to align teeth. This means brackets are clipped into the archwire instead of being tied to the archwire with an elastic. This tie-less function minimizes friction throughout the orthodontic movement process, making braces more comfortable and eliminating the need for ‘tightening’ or adjustment appointments.

The Damon system allows teeth to move independently of each other, instead of moving in the same direction all at once, which reduces treatment time.

Do self-ligating braces need to be tightened?

No, self-ligating braces don’t have colored rubber bands that need replacing, which means fewer orthodontist visits for you! At each appointment, Dr. Andrews will simply assess your progress to determine if any changes need to be made to your treatment plan.

Benefits of Self-ligating Braces

  • Damon brackets are smaller and more compact than traditional brackets. They provide aesthetic benefits and allow for greater comfort throughout the treatment process.
  • Tie-less brackets have fewer spaces for food and debris to get stuck. They’re easier to maintain and keep clean!
